Technical Assistance Centers (TACs) are funded through a three-year grant from SAMHSA, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. The TAC is affiliated with the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA). The TAC serves people living with all kinds of mental illnesses including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia and other illnesses.
DBSA is the leading consumer-directed national organization focusing on the most prevalent mental illnesses, depression and bipolar disorder. The organization fosters an environment of understanding about the impact and management of these life-threatening illnesses by providing knowledge-based tools and information written in language the general public can understand. DBSA supports research to promote more effective, tolerable treatments and person-centered care. The organization works to ensure that people living with mental illness are treated equitably.
